Olivier van der Haegen

Olivier is a member of Loyens & Loeff’s Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group in Belgium. He is experienced in international commercial litigation and arbitration.

About Olivier van der Haegen

Olivier is experienced in international commercial litigation and arbitration. He has acted as counsel in various arbitration proceedings, either ad hoc or under institutional rules (mostly ICC and Cepani). He also handles litigations before Belgian courts in the construction, energy, financial and food industries.

His recent activities include the representation of a food company in a post-M&A Cepani arbitration under Belgian law, a mining company acting as claimant in two ICC arbitrations under Congolese law and an African company in an ICC emergency arbitration.

Olivier has also developed particular expertise in court proceedings relating to setting aside, recognition and/or enforcement of arbitral awards or foreign judgments.
He is member of Cepani (the Belgian arbitration institution) and Cepani 40 Steering Committee.
